The “Grouper” was the flagship of the Pamphlett-Tennyson Sea Scout Group and was named “Grouper” after Gordon “Grouper” Grant, the founding Group Leader of 1st Tennyson Sea Scouts. She was purchased in 1969, and this makes her 42 years old in 2010. At this time she became unserviceable. Since her arrival, literally hundreds of scouts have learnt how to sail and gone on expeditions in her.

However before she was retired, we had plans drawn, and we have built two to replace her.

The Finnegan was completed in 2010 and sailed for a season with the original ‘Grouper’ before she was retired.

The Grouper II was completed in 2013 and sailed since.
